Tsitsikamma National Park
This coastal reserve is well known for indigenous forests, dramatic coastlines and hiking trails. It is the third most frequently visited national park out of the twenty in South Africa. You can look forward to seeing some fine examples of fynbos as well as herbs and other interesting plant life. The park also protects a large area of marine life.
The Cango Caves
This famous tourist attraction is situated 29km from Oudshoorn and offers visitors spectacular towering formations in vast halls. This can be viewed on various tours (choose form a standard or adventure tour) led by experienced guides.
Bloukrans River Bridge Bungee
At 216m, this bungee jump is the highest commercial bungee jump in the world. The Gourits River Bungee jump, near Mossel Bay is another bungee jumping site on the Garden Route and measures 65m.
Lakes Area National Park
This park consists of Wilderness National Park and Knysna Lakes Area but is currently run as one. Here you have the opportunity to view the endangered Knysna seahorse and a large variety of other marine life. Also, relax in an area surrounded by lakes, rivers, fern, estuaries and beaches, with stunning views of lush forests and soaring mountains. |
